Overview:

It does not matter who you are and what you do. The more successful you want to be, the more Emotional Intelligence (EQ) you must have. There is no other way.

Everything you do sits on emotions and feelings. Everyone you work with has emotions and feelings. Whether you are aware of them or not, emotions are interweaved with everything you think, do, and say each day on the job, and throughout your life.

Emotional Intelligence is your ability to recognize and understand emotions in self and others, and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and relationships. It is one of the most important abilities that an individual can possess, and it is a skill that can be developed with training.

Here's What You Will Learn:

  • Discover what EQ is and why it matters at work.
  • Broaden your awareness of the role of your emotions in your job, your profession and at your workplace.
  • Explore the four EQ skills in action: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Relationship Management
  • Discuss real-world examples and experiences, what works, what doesn’t, and what to do next time.
  • From the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal assessment results, understand your current level of emotional intelligence (strengths and weaknesses) and where to focus your development.
  • Complete your own EQ Development Plan to include one EQ goal and specific EQ practice strategies that will help you achieve this goal.

Prework & Postwork:

Complete an online Emotional Intelligence Self-Appraisal (EIA) ME Edition before course commencement. Complete a second EIA 6-month after you have completed your e-learning to confirm you have acquired your EQ skills.

Action Plan 6-month eLearning:

TalentSmart has built a global eLearning portal to help you continue learning after the workshop. This is supported by videos and lessons designed to help you develop your emotional intelligence skills. The Emotional Intelligence action plan will help you to focus your efforts more effectively as you explore, learn and apply the EQ strategies provided. You will be taught how to work with an accountability partner to support you in the action plan.  When you increase your EQ, the natural benefit from the effort is an increase in many other critical management skills that are important to the organization.

Methodology:

This course will be conducted through mini-lectures, interactive activities, games, role play, group discussions, case studies and online EQ (ME) Appraisal.
