Our Emotional Intelligence 2.0 Book tops the Best-Seller Charts since 2011

Our Discovering Emotional Intelligence book spent another year atop the best-seller charts in 2011. The award-winning book was the year’s No. 4 hardcover title in the Self-Improvement category, as measured by Nielsen Bookscan. Sales for our Emotional Intelligence 2.0 gained momentum as the year progressed, with a four-week run in the No. 1 slot during October.

Published in 2009, the Emotional Intelligence 2.0 is the rare best-seller that goes “evergreen”—where word-of-mouth appeal leads to sales growth with time. Most books head in the opposite direction, with sales waning after the initial burst of release-related publicity.

In Emotional Intelligence 2.0, TalentSmart unveils its step-by-step program for increasing emotional intelligence via 66 proven strategies that teach self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. The book includes access to the enhanced online format of the world's most popular EQ test—Emotional Intelligence Appraisal. With rousing endorsements from the Dalai Lama, Stephen Covey, Ken Blanchard, and others, the book is bound to be a best-seller for some time to come.

Dalailama

Dalai Lama backs Emotional Intelligence 2.0

It is a tremendous honor for TalentSmart to receive the following endorsement for our new book Emotional Intelligence 2.0: “All sentient beings possess awareness, but among them, human beings possess great intelligence. Subject to a constant stream of positive and negative thoughts and emotions, what distinguishes us as human beings are that we are capable of positive change. Emotional Intelligence 2.0 succinctly explains how to deal with emotions creatively and beneficially employ our intelligence.”

The Dalai Lama is the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize winner, recognized for the fact that in his struggle to liberate Tibet, he consistently has opposed the use of violence. He has instead advocated peaceful solutions based on tolerance and mutual respect to preserving the historical and cultural heritage of his people. He was recognized for constructive and forward-looking proposals for solutions to international conflicts, human rights issues, and global environmental problems.

A self-described “simple Buddhist monk,” the Dalai Lama is considered by many to be one of the world's enduring figures of struggle and compassion against oppression. As the spiritual leader and head of state for Tibetans, he lives in exile in India and addresses groups to share his knowledge of tolerance and non-violence in the face of conflict.
