Discovering EQ at Workplace (WSQ)

Discovering EQ at Workplace, Level 4 (WSQ)

Overview

Being successful in today’s workplace depends greatly on our ability to understand and effectively manage emotions in both yourself and others. Whether you are aware of them or not, emotions are interweaved with everything you think, say, and do each day on the job, and throughout your life.

Research shows that Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a separate intellectual capacity. With this being the case, EQ has become the new yardstick by which employees and leaders are measured.

We use a structured WSQ framework to demonstrate how you can learn EQ quickly and effectively and to apply it in your workplace.

Features & Design

  • Assess own level of Emotional Intelligence in one’s dealings and relationships with others in a business context and its effects on achieving organisational goals and objectives.
  • Assess the emotional climate of the environment, recognise the emotional strengths and weaknesses of individuals and exercise flexibility and adaptability in dealing with them.
  • Apply Emotional Intelligence to guide one’s thinking and actions and to influence and persuade others to achieve a win-win outcome.
  • Uphold integrity in all business dealings and take responsibility for what has been committed to others that are in alignment with organisational goals.

Benefits & Outcome

  • Differences between IQ and EQ, and how they complement each other at the workplace
  • Importance of emotional intelligence as an individual contributor, and especially being a manager or team leader
  • Competencies such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management relating to Emotional Intelligence
  • Know the types of assessment tools and methods used to assess self and others’ emotional intelligence
  • How to develop your own emotional intelligence via a 6-month action journey
  • Ways that different cultures and backgrounds of others affect one’s emotions in your workplace
  • Benefits of applying Emotional Intelligence in a business context to achieve business goals and objectives

Action Plan

We have designed an e-learning portal to help you continue learning after the course completion. This is supported by videos and lessons designed to help you develop your emotional intelligence skills. The action plan will help you to focus your efforts more effectively as you explore, learn and apply the emotional intelligence strategies at your workplace. The action plan reinforce participant’s learning and development to justify your return on investment (ROI).
